(This is the present perfect tense. In this example, you can see when I was born, l lived here and I still live here when the words were said.) I lived here two years ago. (This is the simple past tense. In this example, I lived here two years ago. Something has changed in the past two years and I don’t live here now.) 1. We use the present perfect tense to talk about an action that started in the past and continues to the present. Eddie has just eaten Hobo’s food. 2. We use the present perfect tense to talk about an action that happened in the past and has a connection with the present. (This is the present perfect tense. In this example,Eddie ate the food, and now Hobo has nothing to eat.) I have already visited Mr Chen’s neighbourhood several times. 3. We also use the Present perfect tense to talk about how many times an action has happened till now. She's been married three times. There have been many buildings in my town.
